Is there not a Cause?

Proverbs 26:2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

The first two references in this scripture are talking about sure things that happen in nature. The comparison is made with a curse. Another way of saying the curse doesn’t come without a cause. Meaning, the enemy doesn’t attack where there is no purpose.

I have a friend that we have been praying for, and initially thought this revelation was just for her. However, the more I have thought on this word today, the more I feel that it is a word for a season that many of us are in right now. As we look at our lives, and think about the issues that exist, whether that is physical ailments or trauma of some sort, the enemy came to cause you to carry that to prohibit you from fulfilling the cause that you have in this earth. For some of us, that is something passed down; for others it’s from agreeing with the what the enemy said about us….no matter the reason, the curse from the enemy had a cause.

The curse had a cause!!

The enemy knew you were created with plans and purpose. A hope and a future. (Jeremiah’s 29:11) so he came with a cause, to stop it. To prevent it.

A cause less curse will not come. Every curse we encounter from the enemy has a cause. So thankful that through His word , death, burial and resurrection, that no matter the cause of the enemy, the curse was defeated and we only need to stand with the Word. (Having done all to stand, stand (Ephesians 6) it doesn’t matter if it a generational curse or something that just happened….Jesus defeated it at the cross.

In I Samuel 17:29, David is about to go to battle with the giant. The question he asks those standing around, “is there not a cause?”

David had experienced attacks from the lion and the bear. There was a cause from the enemy to send them. David was in the lineage of Christ. David would fight the giant and lay the groundwork for his Kingship. David would be introduced to Saul and his musical playing would shut up the spirits tormenting Saul.

What are the lion and the bear in your life that were sent to wipe out your cause? What are the giants you are facing? Is there not a cause to take them out?

David was standing with the Israel army who had been tormented by the enemy for days. I am certain they felt hopeless and defeated.

Acts 4:11 Jesus is the stone the builders rejected.

John 1:14 the Word, Jesus became flesh.

Jesus is the word and the stone.

We, like David, can fight with the WORD, the stone and wield it at the giant. We do not have to feel, defeated or hopeless. We can take out the giant through the Word.

How did David take out the giant? With the stone!! Jesus is our stone!

The curse had a cause but so does the cross.

The curse had a cause, but so did the CROSS!

…..is there not a cause??
