My day was a mess this morning. It started in chaos. One thing after the other that just kept snowballing. It started out with insurance issues and ended in a huge misunderstanding with a lot of little stressors in the middle.
I was reminded of an old Hebrew word, tohuw. The symbol for this word is that of surging, out of control waves of water. It is used many times in the Old Testament, the first time tho, is in Genesis 1:2. One of the meanings of the word, is A place of chaos(formlessness, confusion, unreality, emptiness) verse 2, the description of the earth is that it was void, in chaos, and darkness.
In verse 3, light was the remedy. I had not let light in today.
I was consumed by my circumstances from the moment I opened my eyes this morning. None of them were huge issues, but they felt huge in the moment. Every response from me was brought forth out of a place of frustration, confusion, and being in a huge hurry to tackle one thing and move on to the next. I was in chaos. I did not make a conscious choice to allow light into any situation, therefore the chaos remained and roared in my heart and mind.
The chaos stopped on the inside of me when I finally stopped to pray, and introduced my chaos to Jesus, the light of the world. In the first 3 verses of the Bible, I had the answer for my day.....
