I am a child of God. You are a child of God. It is part of our kingdom identity . We have to know who God is and who we are in order to trust Him.

Finding our worth and value in Christ is the only answer for our feelings of unworthiness, unloved or or thinking we are devalued. God sent his own to take your place on the cross.

I have some prayers in my life that are near and dear to my heart….Things that I seek God about daily, 5 times a day, some days continually. These are things that I see as imperative to my life, my children’s life, my marriage, my future, my journey with Him.

The ark was where the Spirit of the Lord was hovering, Joshua is telling them to 1)come out from your place (your ways, your thoughts, your intentions, your traditions, your experiences) and follow the Spirit

Last week, I was thinking how Easter is just about 30 Days away. It’s one of my favorite times of the year and I love to go through the time frame and events leading up to Holy week. I couldn’t help but think 30 Days sure changed a lot.

Abraham has this huge experience with the Lord. He is called up to the mountain to sacrifice his son. Abraham takes this faith filled journey up the mountain with Isaac, believing that if he offers up Isaac as the Lord has instructed, the Lord will raise Isaac from the dead. (Hebrews 11:19).

I was reminded of an old Hebrew word, tohuw. The symbol for this word is that of surging, out of control waves of water. It is used many times in the Old Testament, the first time tho, is in Genesis 1:2. One of the meanings of the word, is A place of chaos(formlessness, confusion, unreality, emptiness) verse 2, the description of the earth is that it was void, in chaos, and darkness.

Abraham had to walk that "thing" out. He had to walk the land before he could have it. He had to be obedient to the Lord and walk it out, He had to cover the ground he was told to cover, he had to walk the entire place front to back and side to side. Abraham had to survey the land, get to know the lay of the it. He was able to understand the hills and valleys. He became familiar with the territory and was able to determine where to plant, where to harvest, where to dig wells

The word “help” comes from the Greek word, BOETHEIA. It is a nautical term, an action word, meaning frapping, to frap. To be honest, I was really hoping that that word meant something along the lines of frappe, like Jesus would give us a good coffee in our time of need lol. Because, hey, who can’t use a good cup of joe on a bad day?

In today’s society of drive thru’s, microwave food and insta pots….we have learned how to do things faster and get what we want quicker. But what happens when we have to wait? What happens when we have to wait AND be in an uncomfortable place?

"And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God can not lie because the moment the words are breathed from His lips, it becomes truth. Can you imagine looking down from Heaven into pure darkness and the word of the Lord comes forth, “let there be light” and then the light switches on? That my friends is what a Word from the Lord does in our life. It shines the Light on, in and around our situations. His word changes dark to light.

There is a place and that place is so sweet. I love when He beckons me to come Close, to be near Him. To drink in His presence. To soak Him up. But, I just couldn’t shut down my brain and I found myself asking’ “how, how do I get to that place by You?”

How often do I see my familiar scars and identify with them through a lens of raw emotion regarding yesterday’s wounds? How often do I feel The weight of the wounds I carry and allow their defeat to wash over me again? I run my finger over the scars and remember. I touch the wounds and wish they hadn’t happened. There are days I identify myself by my wounds. Failure. Broken. Unloved. Wrong decisions.

I am Barabbas. Maybe not today or in this particular moment, but it’s a role I am familiar with. Who is Barabbas? He was the guilty one. His crimes many, his heart not right. His history was ugly and scarred.

Are you Judas? I am Judas. Maybe not today or in this moment, but I have been Judas many times in my life and I’m sure I will be at some point again. I sell Jesus out. I don’t sell Him out for silver but nonetheless, I have sold him out. Gossip, anger, emotion, to be right, unforgiveness, bitterness, self righteousness…and when I do, I know. Judas knew….we read the memes that say “Jesus knew and He still washed Judas’ Feet” and that’s awesome.

Ever wonder what would have happened if David had walked away and never fought Goliath? What if Peter had stayed on the boat and not answered the "Saviors" call to be a disciple? What if Moses said he was tired after the 5th plague and went back to the farm? How important is our obedience? How important is it for us to be about the business of the kingdom?
